Rogers-Dean Award Competition

Three $2,500 awards given to high school upperclassmen. Established in honor of Emily Searcy Rogers and benefactor Eugenia Dean, the awards encourage young musical talent in Alabama.

Who we are

Chamber Music Tuscaloosa, formerly The String Quartet Society of Tuscaloosa, was formed in 1998 as a non-profit organization of volunteers working to bring high-caliber classical music performances to the community. Our mission remains educational and cultural in meeting our vision to enrich the lives of people in the Tuscaloosa area with chamber music performances.

We offer regular instrumental chamber music for the Greater Tuscaloosa community, focused educational opportunities for children, and a competitive award program for high school students. CMT works in cooperation with the University of Alabama School of Music, Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, and Tuscaloosa City Schools.

Let’s be in touch and share the gift of music today.
